Contribute to a Child's Learning Journey

A child in a Himachal village holds the same potential as any child anywhere. Your support — whether through a donation, a few hours of teaching, or a skill you can share — brings that potential closer to reality.

More Ways to Help

There is more than one way to be part of this

Financial support is one path. But Samta Tillu has always been built by people who show up — with their time, their knowledge, their care. Here is what that can look like.

On-Ground Volunteering

Teach, tutor, and show up for a village child

"Saathi" means companion, and we mean it. A Samta Saathi is not a weekend visitor: you work inside a running tuition class, shoulder to shoulder with a Student Leader, and you live alongside the children and community you serve. You don't need a teaching degree. You need patience and reliability.

We work in Tillu and surrounding villages near Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. Sessions happen in the circle, on open ground, wherever the children gather.

Mentoring & Guidance

Guide a young person toward a future they can see

Many of the youth we work with have never spoken to someone working in the field they're curious about. A single honest conversation about what a career really looks like can open a door that was invisible before.

Mentoring sessions happen online and in person. You decide your availability. Even 2 hours a month makes a meaningful difference to a student preparing for board exams or a first job application.

Skills & Operations

Support through what you're already good at

The work on the ground needs people who can tell its story, design its materials, document its progress, and help it reach further. If you work in media, communication, design, logistics, or community outreach, there is a role for you here.

Volunteer Pathway

Step into the work. Here is what it looks like.

Volunteering with Samta Tillu is not a checkbox on a resume. It is real, hands-on work with real children and real stakes. We are honest about that — and we welcome people who are serious about it.

Who can volunteer?

Students, working professionals, educators, and anyone who can honour the commitment and engage a village community with respect. The minimum commitment is 8 hours per week inside a tuition class, working directly with a Student Leader. This is a floor, not a target: children invest in adults who show up, and we protect that.

What kind of help is most useful?

Teaching & Tutoring
